Voltaire

Voltaire is best known as a good-humored gothic (bet you thought that was an oxymoron) folk singer/songwriter out of New York City. Based on a mutual admiration of each other’s work, he and Toy2r’s Raymond Choy put out Voltaire’s character, Deady: The Malevolent Teddy as a Qee. Other 2″, 8″ and baby Qee, Trexi and even an 8″ Sleezter Bunny followed. All featured Voltaire’s black/white/red color scheme and the graphic elements of his comic books. Voltaire eventually got one of the highest Qee honors: a place in the Creator series

eBay is probably your best bet to find any of Voltaire’s toys at this point, but if you’re a Deady fan, you should check out his Flash video game here. You might have missed out on the Qee, but nothing says “cheer me up” like a magic carpet ride on a tombstone as you kick the marrow out of skeletons.
