Check it out. Gallery 1988 just got in a shipment of STRANGEco’s Vivisect Playset special SDCC ‘08 edition. The collector’s edition set features all ten figures by Anthony Ausgang, Luke Chueh, Peter Gronquist, Thomas Han, Joe Ledbetter, Greg “Craola” Simkins and Amanda Visell (including chases) in exclusive Comic-Con colorways. It comes packaged in a deluxe storybook window box that folds up to look like cages. I mentioned in a previous post that this wasn’t my favorite mini-figure series in the whole world, but I do enjoy the colorways present in this version; they’re darker and as a set somehow more cohesive. By purchasing them this way, you are guaranteed the elusive Ledkins. The SDCC ‘08 exclusive Vivisect Playset is limited to 500 individually nunmber-stamped sets. No telling how many G1988 has got, but they’re selling them for $90 (see them going for $199 on Evil Bay).
