Vivisect Playset SDCC 08 Special Edition

Vivisect Playset newbies and completists take note: Sunny reported that the original series is half-off here and STRANGEco has just announced a Special Edition for SDCC ‘08. The set, which includes ten new colorways of the figures by Anthony Ausgang, Luke Chueh, Peter Gronquist, Thomas Han, Joe Ledbetter, Greg Simkins and Amanda Visell, will come in a large window box with jail cells on each side. I’m curious if this is awesome or frustrating for fans of this series? I picked up a couple at an Urban Outfitters a few months ago when I was passing by and got hit with a sudden blind-box urgency. I like the Craola figure and enjoy the originality of Visell’s fig, but failed to be impressed with the set overall. I dig some of the new colorways though, particularly Luke Chueh’s Bunnies and Thomas Han’s creature. I wouldn’t mind owning the rest of the Craola colorways if anyone wants to trade.

That window box qualifies as awesome. I loved this series, and it’s one of my favorite blind box series ever. I was able to get all of the ones I really wanted.

Good luck finding the other Craola colorways. The special editions are all expensive.

Jeez. What a downer. I guess Toycyte blurs the line between objectivity and personal opinion. I think I need fluoxetine hydrochloride now. Sad.

I think this set is pretty cool.

It’s a blog, not CNN… I’d be bored to tears if I had to write/read opinion-free posts about toys every day. Do you like your movie reviews to be neutral? You don’t want advance warning about The Love Guru???

I have the Vivisect Playset right here so I feel qualified to comment. There are so many toy blogs out there that are ass-kissing the artists or merely ad farms with regurgitated drivel–no toys involved! If ToyCyte was like that, I wouldn’t write for it.

If you read ToyCyte daily, you’ll get to know what each of us dig and what we don’t. Since you think this set is cool and Hana does too, you might like some other toy she writes positively about. Opinions are useful. So know that I appreciate reading your opinion of my opinion and don’t wanna drive you to Prozac over it…Peace!

I only write and comment about toys that I like (and would buy if I had a huge spending budget). So my opinions are totally subjective, and that’s how it is.
