Vintage KAWS Bus Stops from NYC’s Golden Age of Graffiti

video

JetSet Graffiti has cut together a montage of early KAWS bus stop ‘alterations’ that was shot over 10 years ago in 1997 in New York and Tokyo. The video shows a very young KAWS doing what he does best and includes a brief interview. Music by Danny Steele composed for the Popaganda movie (watch for a brief cameo by Ron English). Watching makes me nostalgic for NYC and the Kaws Bus Stop Kubricks I should have bought a couple years ago, but didn’t.

Did you know these are still available? The more KAWS news I posted, the more I wanted one. Be weary of paying more than $25 USD. Plenty are still around (at least of 1, 2 and 3 out of 5). I ordered Set 2 from http://www.yesanimation.com and it shipped fast. A little KAWS inspiration and NYC nostalgia on my desk now…
