Our pal Christian, over at Bbulb, wanted to let you know that there are still a couple of Paul Kaiju’s Popsoda Venus Flytrap figure still available. Paul referred to the paint on this piece as using “quite a bit of layering” (as if you couldn’t tell). There are just 20 of these in existence, and they’re going for $84.95 while they last.
This has nothing to do with kaiju, but everything to do with Venus Flytraps, so I’ll indulge you in a “related” anecdote. Followers of ToyCyte will know that my “other” collection is carnivorous plants. Recently, as they were exiting their dormant stage, I repotted the lot with fresh peat. More recently, a persistent mama bird decided to uproot as many plants as possible to get to the peat to build her nest in my neighbor’s vent. After observing this behavior with interest, my own “plant-parenting” instincts kicked in and I erected a barrier to the plants. I had one Venus Flytrap casualty; everybody else is OK. And I can see my peat moss sticking out of the side of my neighbor’s vent. It’s currently chirping.
Head over to Bbulb now.
