Eckmo Toys is releasing a limited edition Valentine’s Day resin toy called, “Cupie” this afternoon, Saturday, February 14th. Only 20 Cupies will be released, and each one is individually numbered. Erick Low (one half of the brothers who make up the small toy company) sculpted, casted, painted and finished each Cupie by hand in his San Francisco garage. Even the packaging that comes with Cupie will be custom. Each figure will sell for $24.95 on the Eckmo Toys website.
Eckmo has been existing quietly under the radar in the Bay Area for two years now. Erick and Michael Low claim inspiration in Hikaru Iwanaga, Michael Lau, and Tim Tsui. The company was founded on two basic principles that are still followed today. First, the brothers make each toy by hand because they enjoy the creative process and their fans can appreciate it, and second, making toys should be fun not work. If you miss out on the Cupie drop, you should check out their other resin figures. They make Erwin and Little Man Monkey Bear in a style that will appeal to Hong Kong urban vinyl collectors, and they’ve got several editions of Poop Dogs, all of which are currently sold out. Ones to watch!

“Cupie” is rad! The little wings on the back are a nice touch. A very dope addition to my collection.
