Over 70 international artists unite to increase world peace in this exhibit running through December 22nd. Tonight, there will be an opening party (even though the show officially opened on December 10th). Working with the basic CUPCO doll template artists offer their own solution to world peace and the advancement of humankind. The all-star lineup includes: the Grass Hut Corp (see image above), Jon Burgerman, TADO, Shawnimals, Dehara, Reach, Abe Lincoln Jr., Peskimo, MCA, Nakanari, Stephan Britt, Nanospore, KOA, Jeremyville, DGPH and many more.
The United Nations of Cupco project echoes the egalitarian charter of the United Nations. All artists (nations) are given a voice–a means of inputting into the collective form of the United Nations of Cupco. Luke Temby makes a call to expressive arms whereby artists (nations) are given free reign to express their individual voice disparate and completely particular from fellow members. Bound by the articles of a structural template, the dolls are created in isolation and come together to grace the walls of Australia’s Damien Minton Gallery. The result is a meeting of nations in a plethora of color, texture, and individual interpretation: multi faceted flags of expression.
