I nicked this pic from the Uglyblog, and while I don’t want to turn into TMZ or anything, it’s just too good to pass up. President Elect Barack Obama’s younger daughter headed out for her first day of school with Babo’s Bird on her backpack. It says so right in this AP story that namechecks Uglydolls before you pass the second paragraph. How cool is that? As far as toys go, those Bush twins were sub-Barbie. The Obamas are going to be a new kind of first family, and while that has nothing much to do with a small turquoise plush doll, it’s still neat to see. Someone ought to send over a couple cases of Dunnys and Qees.
