As a rabid Futurama collector (and subsequently, hopeful speculator about the fate of the series), I’m kinda excited about the combination of all things ‘outer space’ and ‘Matt Groening’, so I’m already sold on the 3″ superdeformed-ish, Qee-styled versions of Fry and Bender that Toy2R will be releasing somewhere between January and February, for roughly $10 each.

You might know Toy2R for their extensive line of Bart and Homer Simpson episode-specific and artist-inspired Qees, so they’re definitely familiar with bringing Groening’s art into their Qee aesthetic. Early reports place these two as ‘basic colorways’, with many variations on the way, as well as a few exclusives. I think it’s pretty likely that we’ll at least see Universe B and New Justice Team versions of both of these guys, and the possibility of a nude Fry and a ‘Flexo’ Bender also has to be on the table somewhere. These guys might even fit in with Kidrobot’s Simpsons line, if you’re looking for a reason to pick ‘em up. They DID meet in the comics, after all… but so did the X-Men and the crew of the Starship Enterprise, so don’t listen to me.
