Tim Tsui and Alice Chan Get Some Olympic Fever

Beyond Toys, designers

I’ve never been one to covet things like Olympic pins. I love a collectible and things that are made in limited editions but these much traded accessories have never spoke to my aestetic interests, until now. Coca Cola picked two very talented Chinese artists – Tim Tsui (known for his Da Team Bronx and Da Fighter figure series) and Alice Chan – to design special pins for the 2008 Summer Olympics. They designed twelve pins and they are available only at the Olympic Village in Beijing. Alice’s series celebrates the Chinese zodiac and Tim’s piece features his monkey in various Olympic inspired disguises. This is Coca Cola’s 80th year of sponsoring the Olympic games and they really did a bang up job with celebrating in style.

Sunny, Tom from Kodak here. It looks like we took the more tame and traditional approach with Kodak Olympic pins relative to the Tsui and Chan Coke pins. I’ll have to check them out at the Olympic Village.
