The Japanese Love Crap

Beyond Toys, events

I write about a load of crap, literally. And part of my job is to convince you that Poopicorn and Dookie-Poo are not just toys, but also art. My job would be that much more difficult if I was tasked with making it all educational too. Luckily, Japan’s Himeji City Museum of Literature recently did that by way of a lovely Poop Exhibition. Now I know what you’re thinking: being some kind of scat exhibitionist is pretty much illegal wherever you go…unless said scat is animal-based. In that case, “you get to see the real stuff up close, displayed in cute little boxes as if they were Easter treats. You are free to look, handle and sniff to your heart’s content.” The main attraction is the shiterature, however, which includes tomes made out of elephant dung, a masterpiece entitled The Shit Professor and this heartwarming tale of dung beetles (below). I have got to get to Japan. [via this fella on Babelhut]
