Michael Kwong said he always wanted to make a vinyl toy that looks like a metal robot, and I’d like to add my two cents in that I think he has succeeded. Even just looking at the pictures on his Flickr page, you can see a metal sheen and maybe even a hint of patina that evokes, dare I say it, steampunk. Initially blogged here as dropping in July, it looks like the Galaxy Bunch’s newest and biggest member–the 8″ Alpha Ultimate–will get its worldwide release in August. Like the 8″ white Alpha Ultimate figure, this metallic version boasts hand, arm, leg and neck articulation. It would be nice if it also shared a similar low pricetag with the TTF ‘08-branded white figure, but I’m not counting on it. Can’t wait to see this in the flesh, er, metal, er, vinyl.
