Kidrobot’s Dunny Endangered Series Online Now!

I admit that I wasn’t so enthused about Kidrobot’s latest Dunny Endangered Series, but check out this devilish little Ledbetter. There seems to be nothing endangered about evil, but I’d pick up this guy in an open box for sure. It is my duty to tell you that the series is on sale now at [...]

Kidrobot’s Dunny Endangered Series

Hmmm….to borrow words off PerezHilton…”how do I say this delicately?” OK I’ll just borrow some more words off DannyDesign’s post on the Kidrobot thread: “So, do you have to buy the HappyMeal to get one? Or are you able to just purchase the Dunny?” That kind of sums up how I feel. Kidrobot is going [...]

One Up 8th Anniversary: Cronic Customizes Itokin Park and More

This weekend was the 8th anniversary of the opening of One Up in the Nakano district of Tokyo. Most folks who follow the Japanese vinyl scene know this shop has been at the heart of the toy world here in Japan and a great place to find new talent. The owner Ken Ashikawa (who provides some of the photos below) has been helping artists produce their designs in vinyl and resin form since he opened the shop. Some of the artists who have release figures through his shop include Touma, Itokin Park, Kaijin and Instinctoy. For the event, Ken asked kaiju designer and painter Cronic (who is celebrating his 4th anniversary in business) to do a number of one off custom paint pieces.

The Tiny Terror of Touma x Ultraseven Minifigures

Oh, Ultraseven! So many horribly ridiculous, brain-bending megamonsters you’ve given us. I’m not sure where I’d be now without such awesomeness as Gan-Q, Deathfacer and King Joe, but I’d venture it would a place with a lot less cyclopods and robots, and I don’t even want to imagine that world. Enter Bandai, who really, really ought [...]

Win Free Gas For Life From Touma

I don't typically go for potty humor, but I'm crazy about Touma's Pooty figure. There's something so absurd about a skunk off-gassing a vinyl fart cloud. Every time I look at them, they make me smile. To that extent, we're giving away three of the figures in exchange for a laugh. The funniest comment will receive the rare all-black Pooty figure signed, dated and doodled as a collab between Touma, ToyCyte and Paradise Toy Land (who donated the figure for the global good of rebuilding the ozone layer one poot at a time). Two runners up will be awarded the standard pink (with grey) and standard blue (with purple) Pooty figures, also signed and dated by Touma.

Miao Show Previews Play Cat and Mouse With Customs

Following up Sunny’s post last month on the Miao Custom Show, Subtext has opened up all the pieces for previewing. In among the ranks of Miao are figures going for a couple hundred dollars including the obligatory custom Yoda and a papier mache paparazzi as well as thousand dollar pieces by heavy hitters like tokidoki [...]

Miao Custom Show at Subtext

By November 14th, we’ll be able to forget about donkeys and elephants and we’ll be able to think about cuter and less politically laden mammals like a cute and lucky cat and an adorable mouse (or mousubi). Opening on the before mentioned November 14th is the custom Miao show at Subtext, the bookstore and gallery [...]

Touma Drops New Knuckle Bears in Taiwan

If you’re more the Knuckle Bear kind of collector than the farting skunk kind, you’ll want to keep tabs on Touma’s upcoming solo exhibition at Paradise Toy Land in Taiwan. Aside from the Pooty figures, Touma will be debuting an original new Toumart character, Iron Knuckle Bear (~ $37 USD) and Iron Goon (~ [...]

Drop Date For Touma’s Pooty

Remember my previous post on Touma’s flatulent figure, Pooty? The Toumart Blog foretells of a release date on October 25th. Lots of rumors abound about the ways and whereabout in which this gaseous guy will be dropped. Although he was created at Headlock Studio, information is supposedly forthcoming from Spanky’s Spa Board. There was also [...]

Touma’s Baby Grabbit and Hellhound Plushes

I’ve always been a fan of Touma’s Grabbit sculpt. And due to a very talented contingent of crafty plushmakers (you know who you are), I am exploring my softer side with a new influx of plush creatures. Play Imaginative has taken two of Touma’s signature creations, Grabbit and Hellhound, and stuffed them full of cotton. [...]

Joe Ledbetter and Touma From Wonderwall

Play Imaginative of Singapore and Wonderwall of Japan are partnered in the global pursuit of making and distributing great toys. PI just sent out a terrific list of figures by Joe Ledbetter and Touma (including colorways that have come and gone), but the only catch is…they’re for Singapore collectors only. Not sure what would happen [...]

Genbu Skuttle Coming Someday!

Skuttle Collectors, it’s time to make some room on your toy shelf for a new member of the Skuttle family. The “does he ever sleep” extremely prolific Touma is currently working on the Genbu Skuttle that should be ready October at the earliest (and has been in the works for quite a while). This wide [...]

San Diego Comic Con -Surviving Day Two

Visell’s Poopicorn and Touma’s Pooty: A Theme Emerges

The shitstorm of poop-related playthings explosively rages on with no signs of letting up. (If I had a roll of toilet paper for every toy on this theme, I could put CostCo out of business.) From Kozik’s Sho-Plops to Shawnimals’ Pocket Dollop to Manny Galan’s Dookie-Poo, has this movement become bloated? Apparently not, as is [...]

Update! In late May, our own blogger extraordinaire Jeremy wrote a post (here) on the upcoming Touma x Monster Hunter Airu toys and included some intriguing photos of the sculpts and illustrations.
