The Resin Collective Melts Minds at Red Hot Robot

Following quite the fever pitch, Red Hot Robot opened its doors for the Resin Collective, and the red dots started flying. Store owner Jason Kiningham was way ahead of the curve curating this show, which featured standout work from today and tomorrow's hottest resin designers. Even a local Phoenix rag covered the show, re-interpreting Jason's "lowbro" lingo as "way cooler than that boring museum crap" in their article, Anti-Toy Story. Those familiar red (sold) dots were quickly adhered to Cris Rose's Rotund's Romp, Cris and Okkle's Happy Joy Bot, Le Merde's Vanfar, Hello, Brute's Danny, Makkinoso's Evil Spike, WeKillYou's William Palerne and pretty much all pieces by Arbito and 2Petalrose. The dotting continued into the night, as fans circled around the display and marveled at the diversity of the medium.

More ‘It Came From Skullbrain’ Previews: El Maz, Tan-Ki, Leecifer & Hellopike

As we approach April 18th at SF’s Super7 shop, the imagery of Japanese monstrosities is becoming increasingly prevalent and perverted from their already perverse origins, and that’s a pretty awesome thing. Take, for example, this trio of pseudo-kaiju from El Maz. Their deliciously flecked colors, their glossy exteriors, and of course, their many tentacles. It’s hardly [...]

I.W.G. Humans Beware Show Previews: Tan-ki, Nanan1, matucha & Bovinyl

Brace yourselves, humans, as April 10th quickly approaches. We just might survive the IWG ‘Humans Beware’ Show, but with no help from these artists, who are guilty of aiding and abetting the anti-homosapien agenda. Tan-ki shows off this pair of matching, all seeing figures, painted up in a beautiful combination of animation-like blues and forms, creating [...]

Kitoy French DIY Figure

Just saw this on Tomopop where they, too, dig international DIY toys. The Kitoy is a spare-no details platform toy from French designer Tan Ki whose name translates to Old Celtic Fire Warrior.
