Our friends, artist Sket-One and fellow blogger John “Spanky” Stokes, have teamed up for an epic raffle contest. I’ll turn it over to John’s enthusiastic words: Awww Yeah!!!! Sket-One and SpankyStokes.com have teamed up to have an exclusive raffle…how exclusive you ask, this is only available here, and what you can win is pretty much an [...]

I admit that I wasn’t so enthused about Kidrobot’s latest Dunny Endangered Series, but check out this devilish little Ledbetter. There seems to be nothing endangered about evil, but I’d pick up this guy in an open box for sure. It is my duty to tell you that the series is on sale now at [...]

San Francisco’s Infectious continues to bring in a killer collection of artists for your aesthetic adhesive endeavors. The latest recruit is Sket One. While not every artist’s portfolio makes sense rendered on a gadget skin, Sket’s works for me. I find myself blogging in public places a lot more lately, and I really wish people [...]

It’s nice to have talented friends, and it’s even nicer to use artistic output as a medium to raise money for people who need it. Kidrobot’s Toy Baroness, Nichole, tasked 30 friends with transforming Munnys into clothes, books and bikes for the children of Cambodia. No, not literally (although Sket One did turn vinyl into [...]

Hmmm….to borrow words off PerezHilton…”how do I say this delicately?” OK I’ll just borrow some more words off DannyDesign’s post on the Kidrobot thread: “So, do you have to buy the HappyMeal to get one? Or are you able to just purchase the Dunny?” That kind of sums up how I feel. Kidrobot is going [...]

On Monday, we began a conversation about blind box toys, and we started at the source: the toy companies. Kidrobot and MINDstyle both said that their fans enjoy the blind box experience. On Tuesday, we talked to the fans and reaction was split: with casual fans liking the fun experience and serious collectors experiencing the blind frustration. Wednesday’s topic was toy stores--largely in favor of blind boxes, but also presenting alternatives. That got me wondering: Do toy artists enjoy the blind box experience? Here are Doktor A, Joe Ledbetter, David Horvath, Jon Burgerman, MCA, Huck Gee, Sket One and Buff Monster (who have over 20 blind box series between them) on the topic.

Another one bites the dust…First there was Cabin Fever in January and now there is Liquidation. I guess the end of Wheaty Wheat wasn’t shocking. The angst of artists and retailers unfolded on Twitter all morning. I called up Sket-One to talk about it. Sket confirmed the closure of the 8-year old company saying he [...]

SKET-ONE’s Ripple gets a major makeover…neapolitan style. This 8-inch custom figure is hand-painted with delicious drips of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla by SKET-ONE himself. Due to the fact that these are made by hand, there may be slight variations, which only serve to enhance your appreciation of a non-production piece. Only ten of these were [...]

Like most sane people, I hate going to the grocery store. I’ve found the trick to surviving many unpleasant (yet innocuous) situations is bringing a toy along. Toys can transform almost any orange alert into a yellow. Plus, if you’ve been roped into going somewhere with a partner or spouse, it’s kind of a good [...]
