If you haven’t made up your mind between the Barack Obama action figure and the Sarah Palin action figure, you’re what’s called a “swinger.” While you’re doing your research, Toy2R is releasing a bipartisan 2.5-inch USA Flag Bear Qee just in time for the upcoming elections. Wear it as a keychain to show support or [...]

The amazing and ever talented artist Liz McGrath is heading over to Spain, to the land of jamon to show off her own kind of pig, The Lucky Pig (above) that is. This piece is the centerpiece of her upcoming show in Barcelona called Tears of the Crocodile at the Iquapop Gallery there. Her whimsical, [...]

Holland’s renowned pig artist, Charles Stephan, Korea’s ball-jointed dollmakers, Elfdoll, and China’s collectible culture kings, Toy2R, have produced a collaboration of international implications with this month's line of Alice Cherry Blossom Qees. The Qee figure was retooled to create a brand new head that is incredibly faithful to the original Alice Cherry Blossom. And there's something special for the Qee body too--check out the new tail in the turnaround above. Toy2R sent me these pics that show the process of turning Alice Cherry Blossom from a $290 5.5-inch ball Elfdoll to an affordable 2.5-inch collectible Qee series.

I’m stoked that it’s becoming easier to find Toy2r’s Qee these days. After a bunch of blogging about MCA’s Hong Kong Megabox show and tribute Qee, the figures are now available via MCA’s webstore. You can order a 3.5-inch MegaBoxee Qee ($15 shipped in the US) or a 1.5-inch MegaBoxee Qee mobile phone strap [...]

Out with the old, in with the new. Kustom Kulture god Coop has just relaunched his website. He’s had the Coopstuff.com up and running since 1998. So after ten years, it was about time for a wee bit of a clean up and rejuvenation. With the relaunch this week, there is oodles more to explore, [...]

I’ve got an addendum to yesterday’s post on Qee messenger bags, shopping totes, duffels and backpacks: Qee sleeping bags. Although the expression “sleeping bag” perhaps joyfully brings you back to a camping trip or childhood party, unless you are about 10 inches tall, this slice of fabric won’t accommodate you. If you’re a frequent reader [...]

MCA is back from a whirlwind event at MegaBox in Hong Kong. The show saw the painting of 90 customs over a period of two days, the release of Simian Nation and an exclusive limited edition MegaBoxee Qee. Customers with MegaBox purchases of HK$800 or more (with two printed receipts) are eligible for either a [...]

Whether you like corporations or not, you have to acknowledge that Target (or should I say, tar-JAY?) is much cooler than its closest competition. From Devo to Domo, Target is courting a hipper shopping contingent. Sunny shops there for orange soda and I am partial to their Top Wire stenobooks. People seem divided on the [...]

How cool is this? Microsoft is offering a 2.5-inch Qee to folks in Taiwan who take a quiz on their Forefront product. The first 1000 people with correct answers get this Microsoft Forefront Qee. In America, all Microsoft offers you is a headache. I actually attempted to take the quiz using a mixture of [...]

Taipei Toy Festival was months ago, but the exclusives are still out there. Not too long ago, I got my hands on Frank Kozik’s GID Anarchy Potamus. Vinyl Fallout announced that they have two Kozik exclusives from TTF: 8″ Qee Fritz Bear Nighfighter Version and 8″ Qee Ivan Cat Nightfighter Version. Each 8″ Qee was [...]

Good news for MCA and Qee fans in the Hong Kong area. He’ll be doing a show with Toy2R at the end of August. He’s doing up a 60-inch Elder Ape Qee (above right) in a red and yellow colorway for the event. There’s also a 36-inch Elder Ape (above left). I always dig [...]

As Hana mentioned in her post on Dunny Series 5, one of my favorite magazines, Clutter, has a Dunny in the upcoming series from Kidrobot. Clutter co-founder Maz indicates via their blog that it’s been almost 3 years since they were asked to contribute a design to a Dunny series. So that gives you [...]

Since 1930, Florence Italy’s LUISAVIAROMA has been a premier retailer focused on serving the unique needs of the luxury market. Their clean and modern website features clothing, shoes and accessories from the latest runway collections of the most important fashion designers. I’m not all that hip to fashion, but even I can recognize names like [...]

Kids need bells and whistles these days. Actually, kids would scoff at bells and whistles (and yo-yos and Atari and..) these days. But for those of us born in the 1970s, we didn’t need a hyper-articulated $300 Bertie the Pipebomb to make us happy; we had Legos. It’s now been 30 years since Lego launched its [...]

In a world of mini-figure saturation, Toy2R continues to kill it with cool artist Qee figures, charity auctions and sweet apparel. This post concerns the last item: a series of new T-shirts for the Qee Style Collection. In the past, the Tee2R store had some issues, so I can only hope they are resolved [...]
