Let me preface this by saying a WIP Forest Sickling Droplet by custoMONDAY alum Project Detonate was one of only a handful of twitpics I’ve ever opened (and I’m counting on a hand that’s missing some fingers). Droplets + antlers = WIN. PD is dropping the droplets, tomorrow, May 5th at 12PM EST/ 9AM PST. [...]

The heavily blogged Illazilla customs are on the move. Following the opening exhibit in New York, the wooden dinosaurs are heading to Sin City. On March 20th, you can check out the killer customs or purchase blank DIY and limited edition fire/fury water/flow figures. As for gambling on the customs themselves, you’ll have to do [...]

The wooden dinosaurs keep on shambling in! The show is this Friday, so let’s see who I can squeeze in here. I can’t help but notice that Scribe’s badass lizard bent the original format more than just a little, but I have hardcore respect for his woodworking skills. As a guy who has more than [...]

Yosiell Lorenzo (aka Project Detonate) first got in touch with ToyCyte about his Crooked Ways custom show in October 2008. His seamless painting style and cute, but corrupt, characters made me an instant fan. After experimenting with hands-on art forms versus sitting behind a computer all day long, Yosiell quickly fell in love with painting. As a result, Project Detonate has taken on a life of its own. With diverse artistic influences ranging from horror movies and Mist UK to Japanese pop art and video games, toy collectors and graphic artists alike are bound to connect with Project Detonate. If you'd like to connect with an original custom Munny and print set from Project Detonate, check out our custoMONDAY contest...

Yosiell Lorenzo of Project Detonate has his first solo show at the No Regret Tattoos and Art Gallery in Naguatuck, CT. I’m really digging the clean paint and crooked storyline of his Crooked Way Academy customs. I asked Yosiell about The Academy and he said: it’s “a fictious school I created; it’s the theme of [...]
