Patrick Ma Asks: Do You Feel Lucky?

Local hero Patrick Ma will be making the midwest feel lucky when he heads to Chicago to debut the newest IWG designer vinyl series, the IWG Sleepy Bears, and 5 new vector illustrations. Three of the illustrations were inspired by iconic characters found in classic 1960’s and 1970’s anti-hero movies.  As with all sales under [...]

I’ve had the same wallpaper on my cell phone since the Kidrobot Munny Show of 2005 at Minna Gallery in San Francisco. It’s a Munny w/ glasses and mobile phone (I also have the G.I.D. zipper pull of the same character). I think I downloaded it while BART was above ground or shortly thereafter. While [...]

Hunt for Exclusives: Rocket World

As I was taking a picture of this newly customized Munny, someone asked me who the artist was. This black Munny was customized and signed by Patrick Ma of Rocket World. My boyfriend decided to bring a black Munny instead of a sketchbook. (Actually it was my idea but sharing is caring.) When he asked [...]

The Insider’s Guide to San Diego Comic-Con

Last year 125,000 people attended San Diego Comic-Con. While some were industry professionals and Comic-Con veterans, others were newbies who were completely overwhelmed by the scene. Maybe I’m just speaking for myself. I made all the rookie mistakes last year: waited until the last minute to get a hotel room, didn’t pack snacks, forgot my [...]
