Looks like we’re not the only ones celebrating our first anniversary this month: San Francisco’s own Kuso Designer Toys marks their premiere year with an exclusive figure from Itokin Park. Jason and Jonathan just returned from monitoring toy production in China and have promised further details as they are available. In the meantime, feast your [...]

NYCC was a nearly incomprehensible miasma of crowds and excitement and getting whapped in the shoulder by uncareful cameramen, but I survived the whole ordeal with bruised body intact. After a few technical delays, I'm finally home again, here to report on the onslaught of awesome. Read on for highlights from David Foox, Bob Conge, GoHero, Erick Scarecrow, Jure Gavran, Jared Deal, Eric Nocella, kaNO, Nakanari, NEMO and Brent Nolasco.

So, Kuso Vinyl’s new stuff didn’t show up on time for NYCC, which is something of a major bummer – but that’s okay! Weekend raffles and general amicability propelled the booth throughout the weekend. I happened to be there at the booth while Jure Gavran’s Criminal Billy was raffled off to this lucky young lady. While there [...]

Local toy scene pals Jure Gavran and Kuso Vinyl head east for NYCC 09 where Kuso will throw a raffle of Jure’s Criminal Billy figure. Following the success of Immigrant Billy, this will be the first release for the new urban version. There is only one figure available for the free raffle, so lining up [...]

Sometimes, I fall asleep watching Cartoon Network. Okay, so this happens, like, every night because I’m a sad creature, but I find that there’s really no worse way to start out the day than to accidentally wake up to the squealings and screamings of Naruto. They’ve just sent us this frankly adorable green porcupine who will make his debut only at the upcoming NYCC 09. The 5-inch figure is limited to 70 pieces, will come [...]

Robby the Space Fireman will be packaged in a clear bag with header card. The figure is planned for release in 2009 in an edition of 84 [...]

Sometimes things seem to take forever in designer toy land, and other times they come in at seemingly warp speed. We’re keenly watching the path of this Celsius figure from RotoBox and Bay Area-based Kuso Designer Toys, and so has been Mike Franco of Wizard Sleeve Toys–which scored an exclusive colorway of Celsius. Mike said [...]

Everything comes in threes, so I’m expecting to be saying something else about Kuso Vinyl shortly. Besides the fact that they have (or had) a pre-order for Buff Monster’s KFGU piece, Jonathan sent us these pics of Iti-pinhead, a new figure by Itokin Park that they will be producing. This is the third piece for [...]

The artist Nakanari, responsible for the Misfits of Nakanari, will soon be debuting his original vinyl figure, and by the looks of it, totally awesome, Ninja Spiki. This clawed, spiky haired figure is being produced by Kuso Vinyl. The Ninja Spiki has already made the toy scene, most notably at his recent show at myplasticheartNYC. Ninja [...]
