I actually dig squirrels, but I understand why people are driven to madness by them. To that extent, the Grass Hut gang has invited 3 Los Angeles-based artists and one from Berkeley (represent!) up to Portland for The Squirrels Made Me Do It. Amanda Visell, Michelle Valigura, Anna Chambers, and Joe Ledbetter will be on [...]

Last month, we told you that Anna Chamber’s Plush Apples were coming and here they are…just in time for spring. The apple designs are based off an animated student film Anna did back in 1998 entitled “Fresh Fruit.” The apples apparently co-starred in this film with a banana character. When you see how adorable the [...]

Berkeley’s own Anna Chambers is returning to Southern California for a special crafty crap session at the Switcheroo Workshop. On Friday, February 13th, you’ll be able to “ass-essorize” a plush poop with hats, bowties, moustaches and scarves. (Perhaps there will also be some stray corn?) If you aren’t feeling the DIY movement, you can pick [...]

Because life (luckily) doesn’t immitate Pasolini’s Salò, Anna Chambers’ Burgerlog plushes aren’t on the typical menu. Instead, Anna has turned out some fresh fruit to celebrate the impending arrival of spring. Her plush apples come in Happy Red, Happy Green, Sad Red and Sad Green. They’re made of super velour and measure about 4 [...]

Anna Chambers is a California artist who possesses the unique ability to make almost anything cute. If you've been to a show lately (Stuff This, Osaka Popstar, Monster Art Rally, etc.), you've seen her plushes. Between working at the Cartoon Network and crafting characters at home, Anna stirs the pot with her limited edition Burgerlog poop plushes (a new batch drops today). And we have some plushes to give away...

This holiday season, give the gift of poop! You know that’s on all your friends and families xmas lists. But if you do opt to give the gift of poop, instead of the real thing give them one of the adorable, irrestistable Anna Chamber Burgerlog. Today, around noon, there will be a “poop drop” at [...]

This was one of the most "pure fun" art shows I've seen in a while. It must be pretty hard to hang plush in a gallery setting, but they pulled it off with good lighting and a cool backdrop. Credit to Katie and G1988 for an awesome show and inviting me in early to take pictures. Art toys abounded, but no one was taking themselves too seriously between the spooky muzak and Kaiju Big Battel's psychedelic presence. It's also always great to see (in person) art by international designers I write about (like Tim Tsui, the inimitable Doktor A and DGPH to name a few), and it's also nice to watch local artists like Leecifer and Anna Chambers have their pieces snatched up quickly. For those who couldn't make it (the show runs through November 1st), enjoy a virtual tour below.

Gas prices are still a pain, but I’ll drive 30-40 miles for a cool art show. I saw this flyer on My Paper Crane, and I was happy to see that it’s reasonably close. Super Plush is a group art show featuring art by 22 plush and soft sculpture artists. The show takes place at [...]

Tee Hee! Yup, I’m not giggling, I’m just letting you know the name of the new Droolie Box creation from plush princess Anna Chambers. Tee Hee is the second born in the Doolie Box family (she joins sibling TooBaa). These “stackable, huggable blocks” are made of soft fleece and felt and Tee Hee apparently loves [...]

At first glance, these are just cute plush dolls by Anna Chambers. I really love her plushies, and her Woodchucks are my favorite. Then, you read the description of these and realize that they’re plush poops. That’s right. They’re called Burgerlog Doodie Dolls. Even the name makes me a little uneasy. Anna Chambers has teamed [...]
