Remember Cloverfield? You know, that movie that we all wished was about some kinda crazy Cthulhu attack but ended up being about 2 hours too long? Well, it has an action figure – it’s just not out yet. Way to hit the Cloverfield buzz at its peak, Hasbro.

The Cloverfield action figure debuted about a year ago around Toy Fair, and despite the gigantic mystery surrounding the appearance of the Cloverfield monster which drove the film buzz to a fever pitch, the first official images that we actually saw of said city-crushing monster were in action figure form. A big, goofy $100 action figure that still hasn’t been released. Godzilla fans never got the real good hit of kaiju goodness that was promised, despite a relatively successful theatrical run.

Recently, Hasbro erroneously sent out e-mails to collectors who’d ordered the Cloverfield behemoth a year ago, stating that their orders would be canceled, inferring that the no-longer-profitable monster would not make it into final production. After conferring with Hasbro, it’s been confirmed that the 14″ tall Cloverfield monster will, in fact, arrive in December. So, quell the rumor mill – you’re getting your disappointing monster after all.
