Squishable Pandas: Because Charity Begins With Yourself

I’ve been blogging a lot about honorable members of the toy community who have been pitching in with pandas to help victims of the Chinese earthquake. Philanthropists among us will be happy to know that the YOKA SC Charity Edition Panda is now available (with $100 USD donation) here. But then there are also people for whom a Benjamin is a bit of a stretch or who think, dang, the world is really messed up and I sure could use a hug (shout out to my sister). This is where the Squishable Panda comes in. For $38 (plush shipping), you get a rotund 15-inch bamboo-eater to embrace as your sorrows (and any guilt about your lack of charitability) just melt away. Of course, if you have no money and no charity, you can just browse this gallery of women hugging various Squishables and comfort yourself by making uncharitable smart remarks about people who can’t respond to them.

The gallery is really cool. Except don’t look at it if you’re really wanting a Squishable. Then you’re going to get sad that some collection of total schmoes got one, and you didn’t. It’s cool seeing people do random things with it (like who’d think to bring it while pumping gas) but I’m betting if I got one, I’d take it everywhere too.
