Shoparooni is pleased to announce the second installation store in The Annex, its new adjoining
gallery space. Opening Saturday, January 17th at 8 PM will be Squeaky Queen’s Apothecary & Curiosities, featuring handmade soaps, oils, balms, paintings, and plush sculptures by Medina, OH artist Amanda Spayd.

Amanda’s paintings and plush sculptures have been featured in galleries all over the United States, and have become a favorite of critics and collectors alike. Her distinctive “natural gothic” aesthetic combined with an impressive ability to antique objects using home-made dyes and solutions sets her work apart, and the detail in her multimedia paintings is at once unsettling and captivating.

Amanda also produces a full line of more than 30 different handmade glycerin and cold-press
soaps, with scents that include “Burning Leaves”, “Radium”, “Strawberry Preserves”, and “Absinthe”.
Her career as a graphic designer helps provide each scent with unique packaging that is both simple and delightful, making her soaps a perfect gift for any occassion. Amanda also produces a full range of designer lip balms and original perfume oils, and continues to delve deeper in to perfumery and aromachemical studies.

Amanda’s Apothecary will be open from January 17th until February 15th in the Shoparooni
Annex. Select products and artwork will also be available online through www.shoparooni.com.
Business hours are Tues. – Thurs. 2 pm – 10 pm, Fri. 2 pm – 11 pm, Sat. noon – 11 pm, and Sunday
noon – 6 pm. Shoparooni & The Annex are closed on Mondays.
