Hi, I’m Hana (pronounced with a short “a”) and I’m thrilled to join the ToyCyte team. Not long ago, I told my friends, “Man, I wish I could find a writing gig related to vinyl toys.” Well, here I am. In a nutshell, I’m just a big nerd who is into music, movies, graphic novels, and of course toys. I grew up in Los Angeles, and I currently live in Garden Grove, home of Orange County’s Koreatown.
I’m a sucker for cuteness, and my passion for cute things began when I was a little kid. I started collecting plush dolls and toys long before the term “kawaii” became popular. For a long time, I only collected plush toys that I bought from Japanese and Korean stationary stores.
About a year ago, I stumbled upon the world of designer vinyl. I heard the angel choir when I bought my first mini-vinyl toy. I started buying more toys, and soon I was hooked. I’m running out of space for my toys, and pretty soon I’m going to have to buy a display case. If I could afford to buy all the toys I wanted, I would need to move into a larger place.
I’m on a self-imposed toy budget, so I have to be satisfied with ogling the latest designer vinyl and plush dolls. At ToyCyte, I’ll be writing about my favorite toys and artists, events, releases, and anything that piques my short attention span.

juliaaah: have you seen the Ugyl Doll vinyls? i didn’t think they’d translate well to vinyl but they’re really cute.

the smorkin labbits are too cool. (or maybe i just think it’s fun to say “labbit”) but that stool is a little out of my range!

I’m still traumatized from the amount of time and energy it took to get that dern Vivisect Visell-gator.
Heyyy…that one Ugly Doll on the right looks like it has pubes on it. Uh-huh. Cool!
