designers, wood

eBoy’s Kai Vermehr was kind enough to answer a few questions on their upcoming Blockbob Eater. I’ve had my eye on the green wooden figure, which had been teased on their blog and posted in the elusive “Soon” category of their web store. [I'm filing this under Vinyl since we don't have a Wood category...yet.]

What is Blockbob?

KV: Blockbob is a new toy series designed and manufactured by eBoy. In our tradition of modular design approaches, Blockbob is built out of 3 wooden blocks. A basic figure has a head, a body and legs. The blocks can be arranged freestyle to change the figure’s action.

When will Blockbob be available?

KV: The first figure coming out fall 2008 will be green colored “Eater” and will have a height of 21,6 cm (8.5″) [Jeremy's note: WOW, big!].

Will this be a limited edition?

KV: Eater will be limited to an edition of 76 figures. All figures come in a box. Eater is made in Switzerland.

Where will Blockbob Eater be sold?

KV: Eater will be available at the eBoy Shop [signed] and retailers [Kidrobot, surely]. Prices for Eater will be around 120 EUR [$186 USD].

Will more Blockbob figures follow?

KV: Of course!
