vinyl

I remember seeing these Slugs by Chris Yates at San Diego Comic-Con. They were at the Dumbrella booth, and they stood out from the usual vinyl toy. Even though I hate snails and slugs with a passion, I thought these were pretty cool. Now the Slugs Series 1 are available at his website. There are 35 pieces available in 7 designs. Each Slug is hand-cast out of resin and hand-painted.

Here is more about the Slugs:

Due to the creation process, every Slüg is a little different. They measure 5″x3″x2.5″ and weigh about a 1/3 of a pound. Each Slüg comes with a random miniGhost and mystery miniPrint! International orders will receive a follow-up email for shipping. Sculpting & Casting provided by Nikki Rice.

Each Slug costs $45. I know it’s an “art toy,” but it’s also the perfect paperweight size. If you’re looking for something different from the usual vinyl toy, the Slug might be for you.

I'm a nerd who loves music, movies, graphic novels, and of course toys. I grew up in Los Angeles, and I currently live in the non-plastic part of Orange County. I'm a sucker for anything that is little and cute: plushies, Dunnys, Smorkin' Labbits, zipper pulls. My collection is dominated by Kozik and Uglydolls, and my latest obsession is IWG/Rocket World.
