SIXbySIX Online Group Art Show

designers, events

If I lived near Hong Kong, I’d have been at CSBooth15 [tagged]. Proximity to Portland would have put me at Tim and Tigerlily Biskup’s TnT. DC for Dalek. Manhattan for Mossy & Glossy. Barcelona for Bread and Butter. Charity Qees at Colette in Paris. If I were local to LA, I’d be representing at Alex Pardee’s solo show at SURU this weekend. Luckily, I’m not in the middle of nowhere, so I’m going to try to hit up Heroes and Villains in San Francisco. Despite the global reaches of design these days, what if you’re located on the outskirts of Artlesstown?

Taking that idea and running with it (running also is good if you think about gas prices right now), Dril One looked to his contacts and the KR forums to curate an online art show. The show is centered around the premise of creating 6″ x 6″ art pieces that will be the basis of a 7″ x7″ book (due out around the end of the month). Price of the book? Likely to be around an affordable sixteen bucks. Said Dril: “One thing I gotta say is when the artwork started pouring in, I was amazed at the talent and would have loved to keep them all.”

Participating artists include: Amentia, Bert, BetsO, Brian Colin, Brian Covey, Brodie Peterson, Crystal Shephard, DFed, DOOM, Dril one, Elise Trinh, FAS, H.B. Coffin, Jason Kochis, J Hunter, Nathan Lumm, Rachael Harrison, Peter Chan, Sara Wilson, Slobot, Squidnik and Viet. Click here for the full list and web links.

Peep a few of the pieces after the jump, and then head over to the gallery site to buy something. (Prices range from $25-$200, with most falling somewhere in the middle).
