Sam Fout is a character designer, illustrator & animator. His artwork regularly appears in prominent galleries, and his animation skills can be seen on Adult Swim, The Disney Channel, & Saturday Night Live. Additionally, Sam’s “Project: Neptoon” characters star in T-shirts, skate decks, vinyl toys and other merchandise retailed worldwide.
NYCC saw the premier of Sam’s art and animation for the Johnny Ramone Army, “a complete entertainment line” offered by VANS. Not to state the obvious, but Johnny Ramone is dead. Apparently though, he still has the need for an army and a MySpace page. Just the other night, End of the Century: The Ramones was on PBS, and I was reminded that Johnny Ramone was kind of a jerk. He stole Joey Ramone’s girlfriend, didn’t feel it necessary to call as years later Joey lay dying of lung cancer, and he was the kind of punk rocker who consistently voted conservative Republican until he, too, died of cancer.
But that’s neither here not there. Sam’s artwork is pretty dope, yo.
