It seems like only yesterday we were posting previews for 64 Colors Marshall Series and Travis Lampe’s Tear Drips. The wait is now over: Tomorrow, May 21st, Rotofugi and Squibbles Ink will release both figures. The drop will be followed with a release party and signing on Saturday, May 30th from 4PM until 6PM.
Marshall Series 1 has 19 total designs (16 regular and 3 secret) and will sell for $10.95 per blind box. The Tear Drips Series 1 has 12 total designs and will sell for $11.95 per blind box. A display case of 12 pieces will get you one of each design in the series. I know I wasn’t an early Marshall adopter, but I guess you could say I’ve been converted by cuteness. And the Tear Drips are really phenomenal. I saw them in person at Wondercon and they look like Travis’ art and nothing else out there. Nice job, Rotofugi.

the ever increasing pricing trend for blind box toys is curious…

Wasn’t it you who said the right price is whatever people are willing to pay for it on the Huck Gee $650 custom post? Hey, I am in utter agreement with you, and I can’t even afford toys anymore (insert pity party), but as long as people will pay another buck for a BB Dunny (or whatever), they will keep raising the price. The sad thing is, this hurts the indie toy stores in the end. Urban Outfitters will half the prices on their BB stock if you wait long enough.

The Tear Drips are worth the price, IMHO. And if you buy a case they’re only $10 a piece.

Yeah I’m going to the signing and planning on dropping the money for a tear drop case. This is no dunny though they are rather large and worth it IMO. I rather pay the price for an interesting new BB series then some dunny series being released every month now…(sigh)
