action figures, custom, designers, events

So cool. This morning’s Obama custom action figure sneak previews are both paper toys, and this one comes to us from second-year Canadian college student, Dionysus Cho. He threw out all the rhetoric of politics and focused on what matters most: “Not wealth or power. We must see broader than our own country, but reach the world. If we want to see the benefits of an improved society, then we must ensure that we as a people survive long enough to enjoy it! Not only is progress and change necessary for the head of our government, change and progress is a task for each and every one of us.”

Dionysus built up his figure’s samurai-esque armor with reused old card ads and stickers, reflecting a progressively greener thinking society (I see David Cho’s “Hope” print in there!). Says Dionysus, “If we are to fight a war, we should fight together for a healthier environment. Put on that recycled armor and get into the fight!” Who said the youth of today are misguided? Rock on.

Check out the current lineup of Art + Action = Obama 08 [blogged] here. The show goes off at Toy Tokyo’s The Showroom on October 17th. Keep it tuned to ToyCyte for exclusives, sneak previews, available work and coverage of the event.
