I’ve been following Melbourne artist Jeremy Geddes’ blog for the past couple weeks. I think it was Ashley Wood’s blog that turned me onto Geddes, but casual readers of this site may also realize that members of the community named Jeremy can occasionally get the nepotistic “ToyCyte Bump.”
Jeremy Geddes spends his days smearing pigment onto pieces of wood, in between playing air guitar and drinking coffee. He used to be a gamer, but now doesn’t find as much time for it. According to his MySpace page, regarding art, Jeremy says:
I will no doubt continue doing it until I stop working and break down into my constituent parts.
Jeremy paints what I could only attempt to describe as a violent, claustrophobic reality. He is a featured artist on the Bein Art International Surreal Art Collective, which describes itself as “The ever-expanding gallery of surrealist, psychedelic, esoteric, outsider, fantastic, toy, lowbrow, comic, erotic and visionary artists.” You can view some of Jeremy’s work here.
But more to the point, vote for your favorites. From his blog:
I’m in the middle of revamping the website and adding a store, and I’m adding some prints to get the ball rolling, so I’m doing a quick informal poll to see which images would be best to start out with. If you have an opinion, send me an email with your thoughts (jez (at) jeremygeddesart.com should work now). Include as many or as few as you’d like. (just say , for example, Misc 1, or Doomed 2) Please note that I’m not then expecting you to then buy the print, I’m just interested in which are the most popular.
