PLAYING WITH POLITICS: Clinton & McCain Get the Ren & Stimpy Treatment

In 1991, George H.W. Bush was in The Whitehouse, and a landmark subversive cartoon called The Ren & Stimpy Show was on television. Funny how time flies and I can’t recall a single soundbyte from Bush Sr., yet Ren’s voice is readily accessible with “YOU EEDIOT!”

These days, Ren & Stimpy’s creator, John Kricfalusi keeps busy with a bevy of projects, including: cartoons, commercials, music videos and toys. For that last one, he’s either playing with politics or we’ll actually someday be getting John K-style Hillary Clinton and John McCain figures. The sculpts are looking pretty excellent! All photos via John’s blog. Check back for progress and paint. It all seems to beg the question: Would you rather have a president “who’ll kick some ass” or a president who has one?

Happy Happy Joy Joy!
