When you see those three letters, you know you’re in for a visual treat. Phu!’s customs are a work of art, and his latest is a beauty. Avatar 7 is Phu! 10″ custom YOKA Panda created for Cardboard Spaceship’s upcoming exhibition “Beasts of Burden” The show takes place pn July 25-26 at Subtext in San Diego. That’s just in time for Comic-Con weekend.

Phu! has taken a cute panda and transformed it into a spacecraft. At first, I thought it was a robot until I saw his notes. If you look at the close-up shots, you’ll see the two rebel pilots where the goggles are. I think that’s ingenious. The purple and bronze panda-spacecraft has his initials on one side of the jaw and Avatar 7 on its leg. His materials include cardboard, cable ties, hose clamps, and plastic bottle caps. To see the rest of the amazing pictures, visit his blog.

His next project is for ToyQube. He is customizing an 8″ Sharky for an upcoming exhibition in New York. I can’t wait to see what he does with that one.

I'm a nerd who loves music, movies, graphic novels, and of course toys. I grew up in Los Angeles, and I currently live in the non-plastic part of Orange County. I'm a sucker for anything that is little and cute: plushies, Dunnys, Smorkin' Labbits, zipper pulls. My collection is dominated by Kozik and Uglydolls, and my latest obsession is IWG/Rocket World.
