Obie The Alien is a Space Cadet

I know a bunch of space cadets. Those wide-eyed, out to lunch pals that could never do what Obie the Alien has done. This eleven inch figure is a real space cadet, and totally out of this world. Obie the Alien Space Cadet comes from Devil’s Head Productions and is their second piece (their previous offering was The Saddest Devil) and Obie was created and designed by John McCormack. My favorite thing about Obie isn’t his vibrant orange space suit or his perfectly round helmet but that he claims his land with a tube sock, yes a red striped tube sock, okay that’s a pretty space cadetish move right there. Only 400 of these were made and they’ll retail for $60

His story?

Our story takes place in a galaxy not too far away. There was a chance encounter, a passing glance. A passion was ignited for an unlikely pair.

While eating a breakfast of Super Sugar Chongo Puffs Cereal, an alien named Obie glanced up to see a new discovery on his alien TV.

A planet called Earth was the topic of discussion. Scientists had found a new form of life there, something called a human.

He thought this was neat, but upon closer inspection, there was more to the story, this much was certain.

He paid close attention to a specific detail. The human had unique, fuzzy coverings unlike anything imaginable.

SOCKS! Soft and supple, they offered comfort and warmth. The best part of all, there were two! Obie lived in a society that was so advanced that things like comfort were sometimes forgotten. He decided that he needed some of those warm fuzzy foot warmers for himself, and so began the voyage of the alien space cadet.
