I’ve been to every NYCC, even in those dark early days when we were shoehorned into a closet in the Javits center and forced to inhale nerdessence for 10 hours, so I’m exceptionally glad to see my efforts to tolerate the Con getting some real ‘designer’ exclusives. It makes the whole sweaty ordeal a little more worthwhile.

Those seeking this year’s exclusive glow-in-the-dark Koguma will have to stop by booth #866, where MyPlasticHeart will be setting up shop. Get there early, though – there’ll only be 190 sold, and the low price of $18 will move ‘em fast. Switch him out with your existing Kogumas and their rockin’ speaker-chairs,

Also at the MPH booth will be AdFunture’s Mini Yoka, a panda dressed in traditional Chinese garb to celebrate the Chinese new year. Even more limited than the Koguma, the 2.5″ figure is limited to 100 pieces in the US, and will sell for only $12.

I have a feeling that both of these will entail a mad rush to booth #866 and waiting on a line early on during the Con. Hopefully, the line will be marginally less frantic than the inevitable, contentious line at Mattel. Be cool, designer toy collectors. Don’t give up a bad rep.
