ToyCyte: Toy Culture Collected

Hooray! The Pecanpals from Noferin we’ve been blogging about are finally on their way. I’m a big fan of these charming handcrafted wooden figures who feature articulation and a clip of whimsical accessories. Each of the Pecanpals (Fanelli, Pandacake, Pecan, Claudius and Jac Jac) have a story. They range in size from 4.5 inches to 6.5 inches and were produced in editions of 200 pieces per character. After seeing Sunny’s post which mentioned the price of a 12-inch original Pandacake that sold at Copro Nason for $1800, I was weary at the affordability of the coming Pecanpals. But I’m pleased to relay that these guys will go for the very reasonable price of $45 each. For limited edition wooden art toys with all those accessories and nice window box packaging, that’s a great deal even in this economy.
