Like a pulsating, wild brain emerging from its natural habitat amid the undergrowth of the Amazonian rain forest, OsirisOrion’s entry into the Multiple Personalities 2 arrives! Even without his usual hyper-textured surfaces and build-ups, OsirisOrion’s steady hand does a beautiful job capturing the same awesome intricacies. I still enjoy seeing the simple charm of a painted toy.
In keeping with a ‘no nonsense repaint’ theme in this post, good ol’ Owen DeWitt aka grimsheep delivers unto us this totemic Labbit repaint, drawing upon influences throughout the toy world and using a subdued, neat color scheme. Look carefully enough and you might even spy a little rabbit cloaca – and then you can make a wish, if the old wives’ tales are correct.
And one more deceptively simple repaint : Germany’s own timselF has produced this awesomely executed glow-in-the-dark Teddy Troop. The black linework is precise and deep, and leads me to question how the recent proliferation of GID toys are being displayed at their subsequent, oft brightly lit, galleries. Can I get an all-glowing toy show up in here?
