Remember mixtART [blogged], the service designed to bring urban art to your mobile phones? Not content to just wallpaper your cell phone in pixels, they’re bringing actual, non-virtual art to the walls of San Francisco’s Giant Robot. In conjunction with Hands-On Mobile, Giant Robot presents a show including work (and some appearances by) Blinky, Buff Monster, Jon Burgerman, Aden Catalani, Dave Correia, Ekundayo, Martin Hsu, Noferin, Patrick Ma, Brent McHugh, Patricio Oliver, Alex Pardee, Josh Powell and Clee Sobieski. The artists span a variety of genres including illustration, character design, street art, tattoo art, urban vinyl and indie comics. There will be drawings for signed prints by participating artists on the opening and closing nights of the show. A reception featuring many of the artists will be held from 6:30-10:00PM on Saturday, September 20th. The show runs through October 8th. Jon Burgerman, whose art adorns the flier above, also painted the image “Caterpillar” below, which will be one of his pieces in the show. Underneath that, a preview from Noferin, who have four wood pieces in the show, and one limited edition Noferin giclee as part of the opening raffle prize. See you there!
