MINDstyle Charity Auction on eBay

Beyond Toys, custom, events, plastic, plush, vinyl

When I first posted about “This One’s For the Children of Sichuan” here and then the updated postponement here, I was a little worried that it would be hard for Americans to get their bids in. However, LiveAuctioneers, who are handling the auction for MINDstyle, have put the items up for preview on eBay here. [If you're in Hong Kong, you could have seen a live preview of the items at the Delay No Mall.]

The auction includes original paintings, rare toys and limited-edition collectibles from KAWS, Joe Ledbetter, Michael Lau, Ron English, Buff Monster, tokidoki, Shepard Fairey, Devilrobots, Amanda Visell, Doktor A, Tim Biskup, Kathie Olivas, Brandt Peters and many more. A few of the auction’s highlights: Lau’s sold-out “Jordon” Gardeners, Ledbetter’s signed lot of monotone toys, a 4-foot tall KAWS companion (and pair of promo Nikes) and large-scale resin figures by Kathie Olivas, Amanda Visell and Doktor A. There are 29 lots posted (so far?) and starting bids range from awesome (original Visell Carnivorous Giraffe for $350) to really awesome (tons of toys and an original sketch from Joe Ledbetter for $300).

The auction commences August 31st at 6PM PST, but absentee bids can be placed immediately. Be charitable if you can afford to (proceeds go to help victims of the Chinese earthquake), and be sure to read all the rules of the auction, which may include additional shipping costs from Hong Kong.
