Millenium Falcon Gets Complete Overhaul

action figures

I just saw this rad video on Gearlog.com. To celebrate 30 years of Star Wars, Hasbro is getting in on the excitement with a brand new Millenium Falcon playset. Though Hasbro’s reasons for the update aren’t strictly for the fans. It seems that the original mold, which has made the last 30 years worth of Falcons, was destroyed! It looks like they took this chance to really enhance upon an already cool toy. The new one is 30%, can hold up to 18 figures and even comes with Han and Chewie. There’s a whole slew of sound effects and electronic enhancements including glowing hologram game, “whiny Luke” quotes, stalled engine sounds, and turret blasting sound effects. There’s still the mandatory hidden compartments, but they appear to be totally revamped with multiple spaces. This guy even comes with a working rear loading dock, and an escape pod! I love the idea of having massively large vehicles (like the GI Joe Skystriker and Aircraft Carrier), but I also remember how fragile those damn things were. A sick part of me wants to be there when the kid that gets this trips and falls while racing around the house trying to complete the Kessel Run in under 12 Parsecs. That’s one dead Falcon. The official first full view of the Millenium Falcon will be at Comic Con this year, so keep your eyes peeled.
