vinyl

Thanks to a heads up from Michael Kwong, creator of the Galaxy Bunch, here’s a sneak preview of what’s in store for SDCC 2008 attendees. First up, joining the Galaxy Bunch is a series of fourteen 3″ mini-figures called The Alphamaniac (above left). Michael says he “focused so much on the facial expressions” in this series. I’m digging the bandaged fellas. They’ll go nicely with my Spacebots and this Dr. Romanelli Be@rbrick. Next, he’s dropping a 60-character series, ChiBo, designed by his younger brother, Chi-Kit Kwong. The first five characters are (below right, left-to-right): His Royal Highness, Tall Kitty, Teenage Trackstar and Space Funky (Action Kwong not shown). And finally, there’s the Alpha Ultimate 8″ DIY vinyl figure (above right, below left), which is a Taipei Toy Fest exclusive. Michael assures us though, that the highly-articulated toy will be available worldwide in metallic and full-color versions starting sometime in July. Peep all the great designs on Michael’s Flickr.
