I’m back from a long weekend, and I have another San Diego Comic-Con exclusive for you. This one is from Munky King — Mecha Sad Bear: Clear Edition by Luke Chueh. Produced by In the Yellow, this “kaiju for grown-ups” is clear with silver eyes. Luke Chueh fans go crazy for anything he does, but I think this one will have broader appeal. If you grew up watching Voltron, Mazinga Z, or anything like that, you will appreciate the design. As soon as my robot-loving boyfriend saw it, he said, “That’s what I’m getting at Comic-Con.”

Please excuse the quality of the picture. I did not have a real camera with me, and I had to use my phone. I wasn’t planning on visiting Munky King, but I was in the neighborhood. It never fails. Whenever I really need a camera, I leave it at home. When I take my camera with me, I don’t find anything worth snapping. I promise to take a better picture at Comic-Con. In the meantime, you can take a look at the Mecha Sad Bear: Silver to see the specs.

I'm a nerd who loves music, movies, graphic novels, and of course toys. I grew up in Los Angeles, and I currently live in the non-plastic part of Orange County. I'm a sucker for anything that is little and cute: plushies, Dunnys, Smorkin' Labbits, zipper pulls. My collection is dominated by Kozik and Uglydolls, and my latest obsession is IWG/Rocket World.

that’s pretty sweet looking, even if it’s just a camera phone.

maaaan, make the robot-loving boyfriend take his camera everywhere with you.
