When last I wrote about MCA’s 2-day stencil-bender at MegaBox in Hong Kong, the question on my mind was what would become of the copious customs? Well, here they are finally, sort of. The 90 custom 8-inch Qees MCA stenciled over the course of about 7 hours will be sold in blind boxes at upcoming Toy2R events and pop-up shops around the globe. The assortment includes: BearbearQ, KitCatQ, DoGgyQ, ToyerQ, MonQ and PigeeQ in White, Black & GID. Each 8-inch Qee is a unique piece with an SRP of $80 USD. The series will be available starting this month, but the exact when and where is, as of yet, not known. To see some closeups of the pieces, as well as a rare pic of their creator sans black bar, check out MCA’s Flickr set. MCA and Toy2R have worked closely on several projects, including the Evil Apes, and (one of my favorites) the No Music No Life Qee series. With the DIY/Stencil Qee Series, fans have an opportunity to own an original 8-inch custom at a production piece price. Nice!
