Beyond Toys, designers

Back in August, we were looking out for MCA’s first book, Simian Nation and, following it’s release in Hong Kong, it’s now reaching wider audiences. I picked up the volume directly from MCA’s blog, where, for about $20, he’ll send you one with a signature and/or drawing and little extras like stickers and buttons. Simian Nation (shown above with an MCA x MegaBox Qee) is the first publication in a new series of Artist Collection Books from Toy2R. It spans 96 full-color pages of evil apes and ends with an invitation to design your own and become part of the “Simian Nation.” The Evil Ape is shown in all his incarnations: Vinyl Figures, Qees, Stone Sculptures, Street Art, fashion and more. The book features a forward by Raymond Choy (president of Toy2R) and an intro interview by Jeremyville (originally published in PEEL magazine). Simian Nation is limited to 1000 copies and is available now.
