Ludwig Van Lulubell: Kozik’s Black Bust Exclusive

vinyl

Amy from Lulubell Toy Bodega just sent over a sneak peak of their colorway of Frank Kozik’s Ludwig Van: A Clockwork Beethoven bust. While some cleverly viral t-shirts are proclaiming that “Obama is the new black,” you could make the same claim for this figure. Lulubell is the exclusive retailer of the prized black (absence of) colorway. I messaged back and forth with Amy a couple times to make sure I was seeing things right because the bust looks a little bronze (like the original) to me. Amy assured me that it’s just some spectacular sunsets casting a bronze glow on the otherwise very black 16-inch vinyl bust. Ludwig has a white painted eyelash detail and an inscription on the base. The box has a blood spattered sheet music motif. The black version joins the recently announced purple and silver colorways in what can only be described as alternately very cool and also a completist’s nightmare. There will be 50 black busts available for $200 a piece on October 1st at 12:01PST from Lulubell at this link.
