Korea’s first designer platform toy, OUIP, is pronounced “weep,” but there’s nothing to cry about. Bill from Bare Blog posted these details straight from Heyulje one of the owners of delitoys lab who is responsible for OUIP.
- The meaning of OUIP comes from French word “oui,” which means yes.
- The idea of OUIP comes from a light bulb and it’s easy to express that with a word starting with letter ‘O’
- There will be two DIY OUIP versions: one 8″ and one GID 8.”
- A 2.5″ version will follow later on.
An exhibition called OUIP Loves Artists with various artists from the graffiti, illustration, fashion worlds is forthcoming. The pics to the left were posted today on the delitoys’ blog showing a few DJs starting their customizations.
OUIP will be distributed by kinkirobot in Korea, but they’re looking for worldwide distributors and retailers in order to release it worldwide.
