Koibito Gocco Prints

Beyond Toys, events

Yoskay Yamamoto is one of the artists on my must-see list. To promote his Koibito toy, he created these limited edition gocco prints. In case you didn’t know: “gocco” is a self-contained compact color printing system that is popular in Japan. I didn’t know that either; I had to wiki it. Each hand-painted print is framed and on a 6 x 6 masonite board. Each print has a different back ground with various colors, textures, and stencils. What you see above is just one sample. To see a few others, visit his blog.

The Koibito gocco print is a limited edition of 25. For purchase information, you have to contact Munky King.

Once again, here is Yamamoto’s signing schedule at Comic-Con:

  • Thursday - Saturday 1pm @ munky king
  • Saturday @ 4pm @ hi-fructose

I'm a nerd who loves music, movies, graphic novels, and of course toys. I grew up in Los Angeles, and I currently live in the non-plastic part of Orange County. I'm a sucker for anything that is little and cute: plushies, Dunnys, Smorkin' Labbits, zipper pulls. My collection is dominated by Kozik and Uglydolls, and my latest obsession is IWG/Rocket World.

hehehe. when you were a kid did you ever make those “art” pieces in school where you color an entire sheet of paper with random colors and then you color the whole thing over with black and then scrape the picture you want?

    (is that even making sense?)

anyway, the pic reminds me of that. hehe.

Yes, I did. I hated those because they required patience. :)

It’s a beautiful print and some lucky bastards have their own. All of Yamamoto’s stuff went quickly.
