Kirkland Jue for It Came From Skullbrain Show

Fri, Apr 17, 2009

custom, kaiju, vinyl

Here’s our last It Came From Skullbrain preview, rounding out the talented trio of locals that began with Bert, followed with Leecifer and now closes up with San Francisco’s own Kirkland Jue. Kirkland’s pieces include his take on Toygraph Space Troopers: “They are supposed to be Zombie Troopers in a nuclear aftermath,” he writes. “Their space suits are melting away to show the skeleton zombie inside. I used a BIC lighter to melt and char the edges of the openings.” Awesome.

Kirkland also customized a Tim Biskup x T9G Rangeas and made a Rumble Tank. “The Rumble Tank is a Charatics x Gargamel tank and I replaced the Deathra with a Rumble Monsters Mini 13. The Mini 13 is a preview to a new collaboration between toybot studios and Rumble Monsters. I thought it would be fun to make a remote controlled tank so I stuck the frame of a small RC car into the body of the tank. Check out the video!”

Check out all the previews for tomorrow night’s It Came From Skullbrain show at Super7 in San Francisco here. See you at 7.
