KAWS is keeping me busy like a mad blogger with a ton of product releases [most recent list posted here], but as a writer for ToyCyte, I jumped on this the moment I saw it. RIGHT NOW, yes, right this very minute, there are still JPP figures available at  KAWS’ online shop. No, not beach towels or ash trays, but actual KAWS toys. The 8-inch tall JPP figures are available in black and yellow colorways and are produced by MEDICOM TOY. They feature KAWS’ signature skull and cross-bones head and “X” eyes and are based on the official mascot of Tokyo Metropolitan Police, Pi-po kun (Click for a peasant melody.) The JPP mascot serves as an educational tool to youngsters on traffic safety, laws, as well as community outreach between the police and citizenry of Tokyo. Yours can be found for $98 here (yellow) and here (black). These dropped half an hour ago today, so I hope you sleepy PST peeps are reading. I couldn’t believe it when I read it on Freshness a few minutes after the hour and the figures were still available. It’s your chance to own an 8-inch KAWS piece (not too shabby) for less than a Benjamin! Embrace opportunity. It’s knocking you over the head with a raspberry directed in the general direction of San Diego to anybody at a certain convention without a BlackBerry or iPhone in hand. Get you some!
