Beyond Toys, events

You gotta love something with that handmade touch. Mass produced junk just doesn’t hold the same manmade magic as something crafted by human hands. The whole DIY/ handmade movement is one that has spread all over, just check out etsy to see the truckloads of treasure being manufactured by home crafters. To celebrate this resurgence, there is an independent documentary being produced called Handmade Nation. And one thing about films, well they take money to be made. This Saturday the 19th in LA at the Poketo headquarters there will be a silent auction of over forty pieces of craftiness from handmade dolls, to prints to paintings. Wanna know more? Check out this article from the LA Times

“The Handmade Nation Silent Art Auction is from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Poketo headquarters, 510 S. Hewitt St., No. 506, Los Angeles. The first 50 guests will receive bags of handmade crafts and art. A film clip will be screened at 7 p.m.”
